Pianist Jo Anne Ritacca was an Assistant Conductor at The Dallas Opera for ten years, and additionally, she has prepared productions at the Houston Grand Opera, The Boston Opera, and the Florentine Opera. She has worked on the musical preparation of French, Italian, German, and Russian operas in close collaboration with many eminent conductors, including Nicola Rescigno, Borislav Klobicar, Yuri Siminov, Donato Renzetti and Christopher Keene. She has played keyboard in the Pablo Casals Festival Orchestra under conductors Zubin Mehta and Jorge Mester.

As a recitalist, Miss Ritacca has performed with singers and instrumentalists throughout the United States. In oratorio and choral performances, she has assisted conductors David Thorsen and Howard Swan, and as an organist and church musician, she has held positions in major churches in California, Iowa, and Texas.

Born and educated in southern California, Miss Ritacca holds a Master of Music from the University of Southern California, where she graduated with honors. Her major teachers and mentors were Gwendolyn Koldofsky, Elena Nikolaidi, and Margaret Kohn.

Currently an Affiliate Artist at the Moores School of Music at the University of Houston, Miss Ritacca has taught at Rice University, Southern Methodist University, Grinnell College, Pomona College, and California State University at Fullerton.
