Clarinetist Russell Harlow is associate principal clarinetist of the Utah Symphony, and he is highly esteemed for his beautiful tone and versatility. Mr. Harlow is an active chamber artist, having performed with the Amsterdam Chamber Players, the Muir Quartet, the Raphael Trio, the Mirecourt Trio, and in many performances at the Park City International Festival, the Sitka Festival, and the Music from Ouray Festival. Since 1985, Mr. Harlow has been Co-Director of the Park City International Music Festival.

In 2002, Russell Harlow was invited to become an official Yamaha Artist, and he has been working directly with Yamaha on clarinet design. In 2003, Mr. Harlow lectured and performed at the International ClarFest in Salt Lake City. His lecture included a demonstration of his CD Rom Multimedia Encyclopedia of the Clarinet, which includes results of his research on the finest clarinetists of the past century.

Mr. Harlow has served as principal clarinet for both the Utah Symphony and the Buffalo Philharmonic, and he is featured as soloist on a number of film scores.

Upcoming CD recordings feature music of Leo Sowerby and works of Meyer Kupferman. Mr. Harlow’s primary teachers were Gary Foster, Mitchell Lurie, and Harold Wright.
